Ontario Fire District
The Ontario Fire Department is a rural volunteer fire department located in Ontario, Wisconsin, which has a population of 475. We provide fire protection to the Village of Ontario and portions of the townships of Whitestown, Sheldon, Forest, and Wellington that surround the village, for a total protection area of about 68 square miles which consist of hilly recreational and farm land terrain. The total permanant population that the Ontario Fire Department serves is roughly 1600. Our district also serves many seasonal tourists and travelers as we provide protection to Wildcat Mountain State Park and the approximately 3,500 acres that it makes up in addition to a portion of the 8,569 acre Kickapoo Valley Reserve land. We also provide mutual aid to six other fire districts.
